About me

Hi, I'm Paul I live in the wilds of the Dorset countryside in England. When I'm not lost in the latest book I'm reading you can find me at my day job working as a carpenter. I started this blog in 2017 after having spent time enjoying several other peoples.  I figured it was time to start sharing my love of books with other people instead of bugging my friends and family.  I also happen to have been born with dyslexia. So as you can imagine reading is something of a passion as it can take a lot out of me. So if any of the spelling is a bit wonky that’s why.

     Some of my favorite authors

  • Nele Neuhaus
  •  Harlan Coben
  • Tarryn Fisher
  • Gillian Flynn.

Mostly I prefer my story's on the darker side, so I tend to read a lot of crime and psychological thrillers. This doesn't, however, mean I'm a snob about it and will happily switch to young adult or autobiographers or whatever else happens to come floating by.

When I'm not at work or reading I can usually be found traveling the world or at least planning my next trip. But be sure where ever I end up going in the world I always will always have a book on me somewhere. And I make sure to check out the local bookstores even if I can't read the language I found something very therapeutic about spending time with them. (I think if I had a superpower it would be to be able to read and speak every language)

Country's I have been lucky enough to have gone to so far.

  • Canada
  • China
  • The Czech Republic
  • Denmark
  • France
  • Germany
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Japan
  • Mexico
  • The Netherlands
  • Poland
